There are around seven million carers in the UK - that is 1 in 10 people, this figure is set to rise by around 3.4 million by 2030. Many of these carers remain unknown to their GP Practice and are therefore missing out on vital information and support which could help both those being cared for and those acting as the carer.

We at Headcorn Surgery are calling all those patients who are currently caring for a relative to contact the Practice and register as a carer, It's vitally important that we hold up to date information on our patients carer status so we can continue to provide the best possible support and care.

Free flu vaccinations for carers as well as referrals to physio, occupational therapy and district nurses to assess patients for equipment for use at home, such as trolleys, grabbers, bath aids, perch stools, hoists etc. As stated above it is so important that you register your carers status with the Practice to enable us to offer the best possible support to our carer community.

A copy of our carers information pack can be downloaded here, the pack has lots of useful information on services available to support carers of all ages.

There are lots of charitable services out there which provide fantistic information to our incredibly important caring community, the following websites have invaluable information for carers and can be used in conjunction with local Surgerys to help carers feel better supported.

Please contact the Surgery today and update your carers status!
